Two Nigerian Trailblazers Honored as ‘Mothers of the Day’ at National Impact Glitz Magazine’s 17th Anniversary

Lagos will host a gathering of policymakers, academics, and industry leaders this month as _National Impact Glitz Magazine_ marks 17 years of advocacy journalism with its Anniversary, Lecture and Awards.

At the center of the celebration, two women whose careers have reshaped Nigeria’s maritime and education sectors will be honored as _Mothers of the Day_: Hajia Idayat Bola Muse, entrepreneur and maritime leader, and Dr. Mrs. Henrietta Adebola Gbemisola Badejo, Registrar of Yaba College of Technology [YABATECH].

The event, organized by Lumen Impact Communications, publishers of _National Impact Glitz Magazine_, will hold at Presken Hotel and Resorts, Ikeja, Lagos.

This year’s theme, _“Nigeria’s Growth Paradox: Unlocking the Economy’s Full Potential and Creating Agenda for Nigeria’s 2027 Presidency,”_ sets the tone for what organizers describe as a policy-driven anniversary. 

The program will feature a keynote lecture, panel discussions across sectors, the unveiling of a commemorative documentary — _“17 Years of Impact, Achievement, Milestone and Prospective Vision”_ — and the presentation of awards to distinguished Nigerians.

“At 17, we are not just celebrating longevity,” a statement from Lumen Impact Communications noted. “We are interrogating how Nigeria can convert potential into prosperity, and recognizing the women leading that charge at the grassroots and institutional levels.”

Hajia Idayat Bola Muse: Commerce, Logistics, and Philanthropy

Hajia Muse is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s foremost women in freight forwarding and logistics. She is Founder and CEO of Bomarah Group, a conglomerate with interests in customs clearing, freight forwarding, aviation consultancy, agriculture, and hospitality.

Her public service record includes membership of the Port Operations and Logistics Committee of the Nigerian Ports Consultative Council [NPCC]. She is a former National Financial Treasurer of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents [ANLCA], and made history as the first woman appointed to ANLCA’s National Executive Committee [NECOM]. She also sits on the board of Grand Fellows, Institute of Transport and Maritime Technology, and serves as President of Women in Maritime Africa [WIMAFRICA], Nigeria Chapter — a platform advancing capacity building and entrepreneurship for women in the sector.

Through the Bomarah Foundation, she funds medical outreaches, prison welfare programs, and empowerment initiatives for widows, youth, and persons living with disabilities. In recognition of her contributions to commerce in Northern Nigeria, she holds the traditional title of _Iyalaje Kano_ — Mother of Commerce, Kano.

Dr. Mrs. Henrietta Badejo: Institutional Reform in Higher Education

Dr. Badejo serves as Registrar of YABATECH, Nigeria’s premier polytechnic. As Chief Administrative Officer, she oversees the Registry and acts as Secretary to the Governing Council, Academic Board, and all College Committees.

She joined YABATECH in 2001 as an Administrative Officer and rose to Deputy Registrar in 2017 before her appointment as Registrar. She holds a http://B.Ed in Education/Geography, an http://M.Sc in Geography, an NCE in Biology/Geography, and a Diploma in Computer Science. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management [CIPM] and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management [NIM].

Under her leadership, the Registry has prioritized academic integrity through stricter grading policies and a secure certificate verification system. She has also driven the automation of administrative processes and strategic partnerships, including a MoU with the Mandilas Foundation aimed at improving graduate employability and aligning curriculum with industry needs.

The recognition of Muse and Badejo reflects a broader conversation in Nigeria about women’s leadership in technical and regulatory fields traditionally dominated by men. From port reform to polytechnic administration, both honorees represent models of institution-building that _National Impact Glitz_ says are critical to unlocking Nigeria’s growth.

The 17th Anniversary Lecture and Awards is expected to draw federal and state officials, maritime stakeholders, academics, and civil society leaders.
