NPF Launches e-CMR Enforcement for Enhanced Vehicle Security
By Lod Onyeji
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced the commencement of enforcement of the digitalized Central Motor Registry (e-CMR), effective July 29. Vehicle owners and users are urged to register for safety and security compliance, as part of the Inspector-General of Police's efforts to enhance national security.
The e-CMR is a real-time online repository of motor vehicle data, aimed at supporting police investigations and combating vehicle-related crimes. The digitalized system streamlines documentation and verification processes, ensuring vehicle genuineness and ownership validation.
The public is urged to obtain the digitalized CMR certificate online, with support available at CMR Command Centres in Abuja and Lagos, and technical support at cmftech@npfcmr.ng.
The NPF emphasizes the importance of embracing this initiative for optimum safety and security, committing to leveraging technology and strategic approaches to enhance public safety and national security.
This enforcement aims to create a safer environment for vehicle ownership, reducing vehicle theft and the sale of stolen vehicles. Vehicle owners and users are encouraged to register promptly to support this initiative.
