Ogun Customs Command Achieves Record Revenue and Anti-Smuggling Successes

The Ogun I Customs Area Command has announced significant achievements in revenue generation and anti-smuggling efforts during the second quarter of 2024. According to Comptroller James Ojo, the Command generated an impressive revenue of N92.369 billion, representing a 52.46% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
The Command also recorded notable successes in its anti-smuggling operations, intercepting prohibited goods including cannabis sativa, live ammunition, premium motor spirit, foreign-used tires, used clothes, frozen poultry products, and foreign parboiled rice. These seizures reflect the Service's commitment to protecting the local economy, public health, and safety.
Comptroller Ojo attributed the successes to the Service's intelligence-driven approach and robust strategies, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and continuous vigilance in the fight against smuggling and economic crimes. He also acknowledged the support and cooperation of traditional rulers and security agencies in Ogun State, stressing the need for a united front in combating smuggling and economic crimes.
The Command's achievements are a testament to the leadership of Comptroller General Bashir Adeniyi, who has emphasized innovation and technology in the Service's operations. The Ogun I Customs Area Command remains committed to safeguarding Nigeria's interests and upholding border integrity.
