The Ogun 1 Customs Command, led by Comptroller James Ojo, has achieved significant milestones in revenue generation and community engagement. Since assuming office, Comptroller Ojo has increased monthly revenue from N12 million to N77 million, a testament to his leadership and innovative approaches.

In an exclusive interview, Comptroller Ojo attributed the success to his team's hard work, intelligence-driven operations, and a shift from the "era of cock and shoot gun" to a more collaborative approach. He emphasized the importance of building relationships with stakeholders, including traditional rulers and local communities.

The Command has also made notable seizures, including thousands of bags of rice, maize, and cannabis, without recording any casualties. Comptroller Ojo praised the Comptroller-General, Adewale Adeniyi, for his leadership style, which has brought progress to the Service and the Nigerian economy.

On import and export activities, Comptroller Ojo clarified that rice importation remains banned through the land border, while other items like food and drinks are allowed under the ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme. He assured that the Command is working to address challenges, including porous borders and lack of cooperation from some individuals.

Comptroller Ojo expressed appreciation for the support from the CGC and the Federal Government, citing improved welfare and promotion opportunities for officers. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold steps, urging patience as the measures yield positive results.
