The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has demonstrated unwavering commitment to excellence under the leadership of Dr. Ben Oramalugo, PhD.

Revenue Generation Milestones


Despite economic challenges, the Command achieved a 27.5% increase in revenue generation for Q3 2024, totaling ₦23,974,543,014.49. Cumulatively, from January to September 2024, the Command generated ₦56,656,828,685.30, reflecting a 7.85% increase from the corresponding period in 2023.

Anti-Smuggling Operations


The Command successfully intercepted and seized contraband goods worth ₦755,896,700.00 between August 30th and October 29th, 2024. Key seizures included foreign parboiled rice, second-hand clothes, used tyres, cannabis sativa, petroleum motor spirit, and fake pharmaceuticals.

Collaboration and Community Engagement

The Command has strengthened ties with local communities, security agencies, and stakeholders to combat smuggling. Public sensitization programs have educated citizens on the dangers of smuggling and benefits of legitimate trade.

Handover of Seized Items

The Command handed over fake pharmaceuticals worth ₦596,856,500.00 to NAFDAC and 49 sacks of cannabis sativa worth ₦46,935,000.00 to NDLEA.

Dr. Oramalugo expressed gratitude to the Comptroller General of Customs, stakeholders, and officers for their support. He urged the public to continue supporting the Command's efforts to combat smuggling and economic sabotage
