Tin Can Customs Command Achieves Historic Trillion Naira Revenue Milestone

The Tin Can Customs Command has made history by surpassing the trillion naira revenue mark for the first time, joining the elite group of trillion naira earners alongside the Apapa Customs Command. Under the leadership of Comptroller Dera Nnadi, the command has generated a staggering N1,046,496,593,103.60 as of November 7th, 2024, showcasing exceptional performance and dedication to excellence.
Key Achievements:
- Anti-Smuggling Efforts: The command seized 16 containers of illicit substances, unregistered pharmaceutical products, and other prohibited items worth N37 billion, demonstrating its commitment to combating illegal importation.
- Interagency Collaboration: Effective partnership with NDLEA, NAFDAC, and other regulatory agencies has been crucial to the command's success.
- Revenue Growth: Significant increase in revenue collection, exceeding previous year's target, with a revenue target of N1.103 trillion for 2024.
Comptroller Nnadi attributed the success to the invaluable support of the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, and his management team, as well as the DCG Tariff and Trade, DCG ICT/Modernization, and DCG Enforcement, Investigation & Inspection. The command remains committed to ensuring seamless cargo delivery for compliant stakeholders and combating illegal importation of unregistered pharmaceutical products.
