Maritime Media Practitioners Set to Host Workshop on Port Community Engagement

The Congress of Nigerian Maritime Media Practitioners (CONMMEP) is gearing up to host a one-day workshop programme with the theme "Port Community Engagement: Building Partnerships for Sustainable Development." The event, scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 17th of December 2024, at Rockview Hotel and Suites, Apapa, aims to provide a platform for maritime stakeholders, port communities, agencies of government, and corporate establishments to review port community engagement and chart a new course for development.
In a Press Release signed by MCAnthony Onuoha, the Association's PRO, the workshop seeks to promote Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and showcase people-oriented projects and services benefiting port communities. It also aims to address challenges resulting from neglecting host communities.
Distinguished Guests
The Minister for Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency, Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, will be the Chief Guest of Honour, while the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale, Bashir Adeniyi, MFR, is Special Guest of Honour. Royal Fathers of the Day include Ojora of Ijora Kingdom, HRM, Oba Abdul Fatai Aremu Aromire, and the Olu of Iwa and Apapa Kingdom, HRM, Oba Moroof Oyekunle Atanda Amodu Tijani Oluwa.
