Maritime Stakeholders Set to Converge at CONMMEP Workshop

The Congress of Nigerian Maritime Media Practitioners (CONMMEP) is gearing up to host a one-day workshop on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the Rockview Hotel and Suites in Apapa. The event, themed "Port Community Engagement: Building Partnerships for Sustainable Development," promises to bring together key stakeholders in the maritime industry.

Distinguished Guest List

The workshop will feature an impressive lineup of dignitaries, including Honourable Saad Lukumon Olumo, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly; Honourable Sabur Akanbi Oluwa, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly; and Honourable Fatai Adekunle Ayoola, Chairman of Ajeromi Ifelodun LGA. Other notable guests include Yemi Idowu, CEO of Air Com Nigeria Limited, and Honourable Dr. Paul Kalejaye, Member of the House of Representatives.

Workshop Objectives

The CONMMEP workshop aims to provide a platform for maritime stakeholders, port communities, government agencies, and corporate establishments to review port community engagement and explore new opportunities for development and partnership. The event will also focus on promoting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and showcasing people-oriented projects and services that benefit port communities.

Chief Guest of Honour

The Minister for Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, will serve as the Chief Guest of Honour, while the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Bashir Adeniyi, MFR, will be the Special Guest of Honour. Royal Fathers of the Day include Ojora of Ijora Kingdom, HRM Oba Abdul Fatai Aremu Aromire, and the Olu of Iwa and Apapa Kingdom, HRM Oba Moroof Oyekunle Atanda Amodu Tijani Oluwa.
