CONMMEP Holds Annual General Meeting, Inaugurates New Executive Leadership

The Congress of Nigerian Maritime Media Practitioners (CONMMEP) recently held its annual general meeting (AGM) in Lagos, marking a significant transition in leadership. Comrade Udo Onyeka has taken the reins as the new President of the Association, succeeding Alhaji Tunde Umar-Daniah.
Reflecting on Past Achievements
Alhaji Umar-Daniah reflected on his three-year tenure, highlighting the organization's progress and achievements. "I am filled with pride and nostalgia because we have achieved a formidable organization under my watch," he stated.
Capacity Building for Media Practitioners
The AGM featured enlightening lectures on various topics, including:
- Maximizing News Websites: Dayo Bamgbala discussed integrating technology in news dissemination.
- The Media and National Security: Chief Darlington Momoh Umoru emphasized media professionals' role in safeguarding national interests.
- Opportunities in Core Printing: Alfred Omenihu explored the evolving media production landscape.
New Leadership's Vision
Comrade Udo Onyeka pledged to prioritize member aspirations and seek partnerships for the association's development. "We aim to establish CONMMEP as the envy of other maritime associations within the next 12 months," he promised.

- Vice President: Femi Okonofua
- General Secretary: Bolaji Israel
- Assistant General Secretary: LOD Onyeji
- Financial Secretary: Isaac Ajiboye
- Treasurer: Adeola Oluwole

- Welfare Officer: Titilayo Olumide
- Provost: Izuchukwu Ahuchaogu
