The Governor, represented by Secretary to the State Government Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, highlighted the foundation's contributions to various sectors, including health, empowerment, and security, noting its pivotal role during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Dangote Foundation has been working in tandem with the state government to provide succor to the less privileged, with a focus on health, empowerment, and nutrition. The foundation's Head of Operations, Mr. Victor Edero, emphasized the importance of equitable distribution of the relief materials to ensure that all beneficiaries receive the necessary support.
The initiative has been well-received by stakeholders, including the Iyaloja General of Ogun State, Mrs. Yemisi Abbas, who commended the Dangote Group for its commitment to the people and suggested the introduction of a loan scheme to further empower the citizens.
The partnership between the Ogun State government and the Dangote Foundation serves as a model for effective collaboration between the public and private sectors in addressing pressing social issues. As the distribution of food items continues, it is hoped that this initiative will bring relief to those who need it most and inspire further efforts to support the vulnerable populations in the state.
