The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, has been elected as the Chairperson of the World Customs Organization (WCO), a historic moment for Nigeria and customs administration globally. The WCO is the highest decision-making body in global customs administration, comprising 186 member countries.

The Network of Nigerian Maritime Journalists (NNMJ) has congratulated CGC Adeniyi on his election, describing it as a testament to his leadership and the meteoric rise of the Nigeria Customs Service under his watch. The NNMJ chairman, Dele Aderibigbe, and secretary, Moses Ebosele, praised Adeniyi as a great leader who inspires others to achieve their potential.
