Tincan Island Port Command Achieves Record-Breaking Revenue of N747.07 Billion in First Half of 2025

The Nigeria Customs Service Tincan Island Port Command has reported a remarkable revenue collection of N747,079,233,259.91 for the first half of 2025, representing a 29.85% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This achievement is attributed to the Command's effective implementation of policies and strategies aimed at enhancing trade facilitation and revenue generation.
*Revenue Breakdown*
- January 2025: N116,412,735,766.23, a significant increase from N88,430,128,122.76 in January 2024
- February 2025: N103,254,292,293.82 billion, exceeding the N100,253,187,122.76 recorded in February 2024
- March to May 2025: Revenue collections stood at N128,266,643,816.08, N145,020,168,704.83, and N128,446,323,224.79, respectively
- June 2025: N125,679,068,853.75, surpassing the N83,192,847,758.97 recorded in June 2024
*Anti-Smuggling Efforts*
The Command has made significant strides in anti-smuggling activities, confiscating illicit drugs worth over N8,053,125,000 and handing them over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). Additionally, Arms and Ammunition concealed in a 1x40ft container were uncovered, and the items recovered include:

- 100 Rounds of live Ammunition of 9mm
- 34 Rounds of blank Ammunition of 9mm
- 4 Rounds of Blank Ammunition

- One small iron touch light

The Command has demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering inclusive dialogue and collaboration with key partners in the maritime and trade ecosystem. These engagements have yielded positive results, particularly in attracting and enhancing trade benefits to the Command.

Comptroller Frank Onyeka congratulated the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on his appointment as Chairman of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Council, describing his election victory as "divine". He also thanked Customs partners operating within the port and urged officers and men of the Command to continue showing acts of bravery and competence.
