New Leadership at Nigeria Customs Service's Oyo/Osun Area Command

Comptroller Gambo Iyere Aliyu has taken the helm of the Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), succeeding Comptroller Joseph Olugbuyi Adelaja (Rtd). During the formal handover ceremony, Aliyu expressed gratitude to Comptroller General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi for the opportunity to lead the Command.
*Agenda for Success*
Aliyu's administration will focus on three key areas:
1. *Enhanced Revenue Generation*: Building on the Command's existing revenue streams to increase collections.
2. *Intelligence-Driven Anti-Smuggling Efforts*: Utilizing intelligence to combat smuggling and illicit trade.
3. *Officers' Welfare and Discipline*: Prioritizing the well-being of officers while maintaining strict discipline within the Command.
*Legacy of Predecessor*
Outgoing Comptroller Adelaja was commended for his notable achievements, including:
- *Revenue Generation*: Remarkable strides in revenue collection.
- *Anti-Smuggling Operations*: Successful operations against smuggling.
- *Welfare Facilities*: Improved facilities, such as resolving power supply challenges and installing solar systems at the barracks' mosque and church.
*Call for Cooperation*
Both Aliyu and Adelaja emphasized the importance of cooperation from officers, stakeholders, sister agencies, and host communities in achieving the Command's goals. With a clear agenda and a legacy to build upon, the Oyo/Osun Area Command is poised for continued success under Aliyu's leadership.
