CUSTOMS AREA CONTROLLER ONNE STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIPS IN ONNE SEA PORT

Comptroller Aliyu M Alkali, Customs Area Controller of Port Harcourt II Area Command, has embarked on a series of strategic visits to stakeholders at Onne Sea Port, solidifying relationships and fostering collaboration to drive progress and compliance.

During his engagements, Alkali met with key officials, including the Commander of Narcotics, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Director of State Security, and Commandant of the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School Onne. Emphasizing the importance of teamwork and synergy, Alkali reiterated his commitment to the Comptroller-General of Customs' policy thrust of consolidation, collaboration, and innovation.

"I believe that active engagement with stakeholders will build strong relationships and enhance compliance with extant regulations," Alkali stated, pledging to sustain and improve existing cordial relationships.

Stakeholders reciprocated with commitments to work closely with the Customs Area Controller, sharing intelligence and expertise to achieve common goals. The Commander of Narcotics pledged to reduce illicit drug supply, while the Director of State Security promised timely intelligence sharing. The Commandant of the Navy Basic Training School reaffirmed the Navy's commitment to securing the maritime domain and supporting Customs operations within the legal framework.

These visits demonstrate Alkali's proactive approach to building strong relationships and his commitment to optimal revenue collection, enhanced compliance, and security within the seaport.
