RECORD-BREAKING REVENUE COLLECTION: Apapa Customs Command Surpasses ₦304 Billion Mark
By Lod Onyeji
In a groundbreaking achievement, the Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has shattered records with a staggering ₦304 billion revenue collection in October 2025, the highest monthly revenue generation by any customs command in the Service's history. This impressive feat surpasses the ₦264 billion collected in October 2024 and brings the command's total collection for the first ten months of the year to ₦2,402,141,493,747.06.
Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, Customs Area Controller for the Command, attributed this remarkable success to the dedication of officers and stakeholders. "This is just the beginning of greater revenue exploits," he said, highlighting the command's readiness to process higher trade volumes, which will translate to increased revenue for the government.
To further boost revenue collection and trade facilitation, the command is gearing up for a regime of Drive Through Scanning, which is expected to process an average of 150 containers per hour from the quayside. This initiative is poised to revolutionize trade facilitation in West African ports.
Comptroller Oshoba emphasized the command's commitment to preventing revenue leakages and ensuring compliance with customs procedures. "We have a zero-compromise stance in the application of demand notices for the recovery of uncovered shortfalls in revenue," he stated.
The Customs Area Controller has also prioritized trade facilitation, making unannounced visits to port access roads and urging stakeholders to cooperate with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) to ensure the smooth movement of cleared consignments.
As the command builds on its achievements, Comptroller Oshoba called for continued support from stakeholders, assuring that the NCS is committed to delivering optimal results.
