Thee Nigeria Customs Service's Seme Area Command has achieved a remarkable revenue milestone, generating ₦15.6 billion in 2025, a 117% increase from ₦7.17 billion in 2024. This growth is attributed to the effective implementation of the One-Stop Shop (OSS) initiative, introduced by Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, which improved coordination, compliance, and trade facilitation along the Seme corridor

Key Highlights:

  • Revenue Growth: ₦15.6 billion generated in 2025, with a historic high of ₦3.63 billion in December.
  • Green Border Initiative: Launched to promote environmental sustainability and support local communities.
  • Customs Cares Initiative: Provided healthcare services to over 1,000 beneficiaries and planted trees.
  • Anti-Smuggling Operations: Seized 685 parcels of Cannabis sativa, 495 packs of Tramadol, and 2,000 packs of Super Power Sildenafil tablets.

Comptroller Wale Adenuga warned smugglers that the Seme border is no longer conducive for illegal activities, while assuring legitimate traders and compliant stakeholders of a safe and efficient operating environment.
