Comptroller Gambo Aliyu, the new head of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone A, has launched a bold anti-smuggling campaign, yielding impressive results. In his maiden press briefing, Aliyu revealed that his team has intercepted contraband worth ₦3.3 billion, including 6,954 bags of foreign parboiled rice, 77 bags of foreign sugar, and 21 units of assorted Tokunbo vehicles.

The unit also seized 3,029 parcels of synthetic cannabis, weighing 1,431kg, and four live pangolins, the most endangered mammals in the world. These efforts demonstrate Nigeria's commitment to enforcing wildlife protection laws and combating drug trafficking, which fuels banditry, terrorism, and societal vices.
