A Year of Growth: Murtala Muhammed Area Command Exceeds Revenue Targets

The Murtala Muhammed Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has announced a remarkable 13% increase in revenue, reaching ₦202.9 billion in 2025, surpassing the previous year's ₦181.01 billion. This time last year, the Command had generated ₦181.01 billion, making this year's performance a notable achievement.
Comptroller G.A. Otunla, Customs Area Controller, attributed the success to improved trader compliance, effective monitoring of import transactions, and measures to curb revenue leakages. "The Command's outstanding performance is a testament to the dedication of our officers, collaboration with sister agencies, and the support of compliant traders and licensed customs agents," he said.
The Command achieved 113% of its annual revenue target, demonstrating its commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous stakeholder engagement. "We will continue to facilitate trade and generate revenue, aligning with the Nigeria Customs Service's mandate," Comptroller Otunla reaffirmed.
The Murtala Muhammed Area Command's impressive performance is a reflection of its focus on fiscal discipline and enforcement. With its strong track record, the Command is poised to remain a key contributor to Nigeria's economic growth.
