Oyo/Osun Customs Command Exceeds Revenue Target, Sets Sights On 2026 Goals

Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service led by Deputy Comptroller Wale Moses Adewole, said the Command surpassed its revenue target for 2025, generating N99 billion against a target of N86 billion.
This achievement represents a surplus of N13 billion, a testament to the Command's effective strategies and enforcement efforts.
Speaking at a media parley with select Journalists in his office recently, the acting Controller said with the crop of highly professional and dedicated officers the target of N137 billion set for 2026 would be realised.
"I am very confident that highly professional officers and men we have in the command, we will not only meet but the target but exceed expectations.
"The Command has raised a tactical and strategic enforcement special team, operating round the clock to curb illicit trade and smuggling activities", he said.
Adewole's leadership has been marked by focus efforts on collaborating with sister agencies and engagement with local communities.
He has fostered positive relationships with traditional leaders, leveraging these partnerships to enhance security and revenue collection.
According to him the Command has also made significant strides in seizures, dealing a deadly blow to smuggling ring.
He thanked Adeniyi for giving him the opportunity to serve as Acting Controller at the Oyo/Osun Command and also for all the supports the CGC has given to him and his men.
The Oyo/Osun Command's performance demonstrates its commitment to revenue generation and enforcement noted by Adewole.
Furthermore, Adewole said the Command is more than ever prepared to tackle smuggling and illicit trade, leaving no room for criminal elements to operate.With its robust strategies and collaborative approach, the Command is poised to excel in 2026 and beyond.
